SUMMARY:Open Quiet Day I
DESCRIPTION:Leader:  Revd Nicholas Mercer \n‘The Subtle Violence of Busyness’ \nRevd Nicholas Mercer leads us in a reflection on the lockdown during Covid-19. \nNicholas Mercer was ordained in 2011 after twenty-five years as a solicitor. Following a curacy in Dorset and three years as a school chaplain\, he was appointed as the Rector of Christ Church Cathedral in Stanley in the Falkland Islands which included South Georgia\, South Sandwich Islands and British Antarctica. \nDuring his tenure\, he conducted a service at the whalers’ station in South Georgia where he preached on the ‘silent land’. This retreat explores\, in the light of the various lockdowns during COVID-19\, what it might mean to enter the silent land and how God may be encountered. \nThis is a free event\, but please note\, booking is now required. Please email or phone the office to book your place. \nPlease bring your own lunch. \nFreewill offering
