DESCRIPTION:Leader: The Right Reverend Lord Hope\n\nHow can we sing the Lord’s song…?\nReflections on the psalms at a time when hardly any of the psalms are any longer used in our churches. The psalms still provide ancient wisdom and a rich resource for use in all manner of  situations and circumstances of our lives today. \nDavid Hope was born in Wakefield where he attended the grammar school and sang in the cathedral choir. After gaining a degree in Theology\, he went to Stephen’s House\, Oxford\, to prepare for ordination. His first incumbency was in Warrington and in 1985 he became the Diocesan Bishop of Wakefield\, and in 1991\, the Bishop of  London. From 1995 until 2005 he was Archbishop of York. Following retirement in 2005 he returned to parish life as vicar of St Margaret’s\, Ilkley. He now describes himself as priest of last resort! \nThis is a free event\, but please note\, booking is now required.
