DESCRIPTION:Leader: Revd Nicholas Mercer \nInto the silent land \nReverend Nicholas Mercer was ordained in 2011 after twenty-five years as a solicitor.  After a curacy in Dorset and three years as a school chaplain\, he was appointed as the Rector of Christ Church Cathedral in Stanley in the Falkland Islands\, which included South Georgia\, South Sandwich Islands and British Antarctica. \nDuring his tenure\, he conducted a service at the whalers’ station in South Georgia where he preached on the ‘silent land’. This retreat day explores what it might mean to enter the silent land and how God may be encountered in the silence. \nAll are welcome.  No booking is required\, but please bring your own lunch. \nFreewill offering \n
