Our Advent Retreat led by the Very Revd John Dobson starts today. Staff have been busy preparing the rooms, the food, and the chapel – with special thanks to Lizzie for the beautiful Advent wreath. The strong sense of preparation lays a good foundation for the four-day retreat when we will have a house full of guests. Dean John describes Advent as a time to be honest about ourselves, the Church and the world as we await the coming of Christ. He will lead the group in seeking inspiration and hope from the Advent Antiphons. At the end of the retreat, we hope people are relaxed and refreshed better prepared to celebrate the great feast of Christmas when it comes.
