Lent Retreat – God’s creation inspiring us through Lent

Journeying with Christ is the theme for the Lent Retreat this year.

We have all had a difficult few years coping with Covid and all the measures implemented such as lockdowns and restrictions on meeting with each other. In this time of trial many found new links with the natural world and realised that to slow down and see wildlife, gardens and the rhythm of nature is beneficial to our souls. On this retreat for Lent we will be looking again at God’s world and how it inspires us. Lent is often seen as a time of giving up something, but this retreat will help us find more in God’s creation to encourage us on our journey towards Easter. We will discover more about how Creation can help us draw closer to the Creator.

Ruth is retired and previously served a vicar in Skipton with Carleton, and was Area Dean for the Skipton Deanery. Originally from the Wakefield area, she has served as a part time FE College Chaplain as well as a parish priest. Ruth is a Spiritual Director for the Diocese and serves as part of the Diocesan Tanzania Link Committee. Before ordination, Ruth worked as an archivist for the West Yorkshire Archive Service.
