Keeping body and soul together – live an integrated life
Helen Reid
When we talk about body and soul it is sometimes implied that the soul is the important thing because it is eternal, our connection with God, with who we really are; and that perhaps the body is secondary or less important, because it doesn’t last forever. There are even times and places where the body is spoken of as bad, as our weakness or as leading us to sin.
Yet, we have been created as embodied souls and we can trust that this is God’s intention and is good. We can see this right through the bible from the Genesis creation stories to Jesus’ care for people’s physical and spiritual needs.
At Parcevall hall, we offer care for body and soul through great food, a lovely Hall in beautiful surroundings as well as opportunities for prayer and reflection. One weekend in March will have a particularly strong focus on our bodies and souls – a weekend for prayer and fitness when we will focus on strength. It will be a weekend to live life to the full, as one’s whole self. I hope you can join us.
