In algae blooms and imposing hills,
In gnarly twigs bearing singular green buds,
In the looming pines and cool soil depths,
In seams of bright light in a tapestry of cloud.
The small, still voice echoes now as it always has.
A ripple of stillness across life’s crashing waves.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, for where the heart beats there is blood, and where the water flows there is life.
Take my heart, it is for you,
And may I never forget my soul’s one truth.
Like the long green grass and glistening dew,
Abide in me, as I abide in you.
