Living the Contemplative Life: What gets in the way?
June 28 @ 4:00 pm - June 30 @ 3:00 pm£210
Tutor: Jill Benet
What do we understand by The Contemplative Life? What expectations do we hold of ourselves and those around us? Rooted in the practice of Centering prayer and drawing on the work of Thomas Keating, Cynthia Bourgeault and others, as well as our experience, Jill will help us explore how the Contemplative Life has meaning in the everydayness of our lives. Much of the weekend will be spent in quiet with extended periods of silent prayer. It is an invitation to find inner rest within a small community for a weekend, and individually, beyond.
Jill is a teacher of Centering Prayer, and has attended retreats led by her two key influences, Thomas Keating and Cynthia Bourgeault, and Richard Rohr, amongst others. She trained in the US and UK and is co-founder of the ‘Silence in the City’ series of talks on the contemplative life.
