Literature Appreciation – Shakespeare’s Extras
Tutor: Hugh Parry This course is a celebration of the extraordinary generosity with which Shakespeare treated the minor actors in his company who did the bitpart chores. Even in a few lines he could create cameos which would be a privilege to play, either illuminated by flashes of wonderful poetry or given narrative significance far beyond their apparently meagre word-count.
